There are many attractions in Uptown Charlotte, where most of the best Charlotte hotels are located, but none of them compares to the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is a high-tech venue designed to entertain race fans while honoring the heritage and history of NASCAR and one of the first things to do in Charlotte every local will recommend. The Hall of Fame sits on a 5-acre site where you can see more than 18 historic cars, 40 current and historic tracks, and galleries explaining NASCAR’s 60-year history. The venue is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day.

2. Carolina’s Aviation Museum

Among the best sights and landmarks that North Carolina has to offer is the glorious Carolina’s Aviation Museum. It’s one of the few places where historians and tech geeks can come together and have a common cause for discussion. The museum features the aviation history of World War I and the evolution of air travel. Carolina’s Aviation Museum is the definition of a tourist attraction, and I guarantee that you will learn a lot about our common history in just one visit. It’s a must if you are in love with aviation and cool flight experiences!

3. Billy Graham Library

The life, legacy, ministry, and mission of Billy Graham and his propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ is memorialized at this sight. The library was dedicated on April 23, 2007, by three former presidents of the U.S.: Carter, Clinton, and Bush. This 40,000-square-foot library hosts a Journey of Faith tour, which lasts for 90 minutes. The library is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.

4. Freedom Park

The Freedom Park of Charlotte is a 98-acre natural park that’s located at 1900 East Boulevard, about 5 kilometers away from Charlotte’s downtown area. With a range of entertaining activities and events, this park is never dull. You can relax or partake in your choice of sports with your friends or other tourists. There are also refreshment stands, and you can use the outdoor shelters for picnics and get-togethers.

5. Discovery Place

If you need a site with crazy activities, costume contests, and events for people over 21, then Discovery Place is a good choice for you. No other location can boast this many interactive exhibits, thrilling activities, and an IMAX Dome theater. It was first commissioned in 1981 and later renovated in 2010. Discovery Place is a state-of-the-art science and technology theater that’s worth visiting.
