Singapore In 48 Hours

Jubilee Bridge – Singapore in 48 hours – A World to Travel

With more than 15 million people visiting the country every year, Singapore is currently one of the most popular destinations for tourists in the world. Great food, remarkable places, and an overall beautiful city are just some of the reasons why this tiny country attracts many tourists.

But Singapore is also one of the main gates of South East of Asia along with Bangkok (head to our 48 hours in Bangkok guide here), Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. As a result, many tourists enjoy a brief layover in the destination on their way to or back from that region. Like we did.

Hello and bye Singapore! It’s been short but intense indeed. Still making up our minds around you. #yoursingapore

Whether you are there on purpose or just have a couple of days between flights to spend in the city, here’re are some ideas of things to do and see in Singapore to keep you busy.

Day 1.

8:00 AM – At this time, you might have woken up already and recovered with that tiring travel from your place to Singapore. What would be a better way to celebrate your morning than eating your first meal of the day: breakfast. You can order a heavy meal on Common Man Coffee Roasters in 22 Martin Road or a nice cup of coffee on Toby’s Estate in 8 Rodyk Street.

9:00 AM – You may be ready to go for a walk at this time. There are many great parks in the city to walk to. There’s the Singapore Botanic Garden where you can see a wide variety of trees and plants and the East Coast Park where you can enjoy the view of the beach. For more ideas on green spaces in the city, head to National Geographic’s Singapore guide.

11:00 AM – After a possible two hours of walk to the park, you can jump on a cable car from Mount Faber station to the famous island of Sentosa.

12:00 PM – Time to have a good meal on Sentosa. You can enjoy a tasty plate of seafood at Osia Steak and Seafood Grill or a dish of the same kind on the Singapore Seafood Republic.

1:00 PM – Would you like to visit one of the most crowded sights in the country? Then head to Universal Studios Singapore, a theme park where you can explore different zones inspired by several Hollywood movies. There’s New York, ancient Egypt, Madagascar, and the Lost World to start with.

2:00 PM – Don’t think Universal Studios is the only great place in Sentosa. In fact, you can spend the whole afternoon enjoying other famous landmarks in the area like the Butterfly Park and the Insect Kingdom, Sentosa Nature Discovery, and the ever famous Sentosa Merlion.

4:00 PM – At this time you may be ready for a visit to the Peranakan Museum which showcases a few cool exhibits describing the Peranakan history and tradition.

6:00 PM – Sunset and dusk are probably the best times to go to the Singapore Flyer, one of the world’s tallest Ferris wheel.

7:00 PM – A good place to have dinner near the Singapore Flyer is Bochinche which offers great quality steak. You can also check out other restaurants like Buffet Town, Town Restaurant, Cafe Mosaic, and Rise.

8:00 PM – There are many bars and clubs in Singapore for those wanting a nightcap. You can check out Cé La Vi Singapore, Pangaea, Attica, New Asia, and more.

Whenever you are ready to sleep, head back to your accommodation. We recommend you to book a serviced apartment that will make you feel at home during your time in Singapore.

10:30 AM –Head to ArtScience Museum, near Marina Bay Sands, the River Safari or just take time to walk around the city at your own pace. There’s no better way to explore a new destination than getting lost!.

12:00 PM – It’s lunchtime again! And there are many different places you should visit depending on your location. If you’re close to the museum, you can go to The Line Restaurant or Lime. On the other hand, if you are near the River Safari, head to Penang St Buffet or Ulu Ulu Safari Restaurant.

1:00 PM – If it is hot, you might want to stay a bit inside while doing some shopping. Malls like NEX, Junction 8, and City Square Mall will do just fine.

4:00 PM – Head to Gardens by the bay, next to the Marina Bay Sands hotel, a must.

6:00 PM – To admire the sunset, go visit the tallest observation tower in the city: Tiger Sky Tower. If you are lucky, and the pollution levels are low, you could be able to see the neighboring country of Malaysia and the islands surrounding the area from there.

7:00 PM – Dinner time in Sentosa, always a great choice. Try Syun, a Japanese restaurant or Joël Robuchon Restaurant, an excellent place to taste French flavors.

8:00 PM – The Night Safari, a nocturnal zoo in the city, is one of the best ways to conclude your visit to Singapore.

Hope you have lots of fun and enjoy your time in Singapore!
