New York, the Big Apple, one of the biggest and most prolific cities in the world and a melting pot of different cultures and peoples. You are meant to have fun in this city. And here are some things and places you must definitely check out in order to do so:
CENTRAL PARK
A worldwide known natural gem in the heart of Manhattan, Central Park is a must see for anyone traveling to New York. 843 acres of activity. You can rent a bicycle and just tour the park yourself, or take part in a guided bicycle your if you so choose. While you are at it, check out the awesome lemon ricotta pancakes and pumpkin waffles on sale in the Park.
WEST VILLAGE STROLL
A neighborhood that has not changed for the last 2 centuries. You can indulge yourself on shops along Bleecker St. and Commerce St., visit Magnolia Bakery – offering the best cupcakes on the East Coast – or sample some great ales in America at the Spotted Pig Pub.
FILM FORUM
A place where people can watch classic 50`s Woody Allen movies alongside new Independent Productions. Movies from the world’s most renowned film festivals are being shown here. If you are a cinephile, you should at least once visit the Film Forum.
GRIMALDI’S PIZZERIA
History says that Pizza was actually perfected in New York and not in Italy. You might think this to be true, after sampling some of this Pizzeria`s specials. Located under the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge, you can enjoy your perfect New York pizza while seeing one of the most memorable views of Brooklyn. Definitely check this place out.
EMPIRE STATE BUILDING
One of New York Cities most well-known landmarks, this building has some history. If you want to experience the very building King Kong climbed in the movies, you will have to pay for a guided tour, but it will be well worth it! You can see the whole city, as well as many of the better known New York multi-center hotels from up top. A photographers’ paradise!
BOWERY BALLROOM
The place in the Big Apple, which should be every music lovers` first spot to visit. Up-and-coming new talents along with independent artists all jam here, supported by one of the city`s best sound system. The bar included in this place lets you warm up before you go and have some serious fun at the Ballroom.
NEW YORK DIAMOND DISTRICT
Located along 47th Street and First Avenue, the New York diamond district is the largest congregation of jewelers and destination for all things bling. HARD ROCK CAFE
Hard Rock Cafe New York lets you wind down from a busy day of visiting the city. Located right on Broadway, you can come in, order yourself a big traditional Hamburger and Beer and just chill out while listening to awesome musical legends. Just watch your liquor intake!
