Wellness and hotels we loved in Gran Canaria

DSC00774

How does it sound to forget about everything and just chill and relax in an idilic location? That’s exactly what Gran Canaria treated us to last July. After checking a few stunning Spas and Thalasso Centers as well as fabulous hotels all over the island, here’s our selection:

South Gran Canaria

  • Sheraton Salobre Golf Resort & Spa

We had the opportunity of spending two days in this large luxury complex. 7 pools and its Aloe Vera Spa will keep you busy even if you opt for not leaving the place in a while. Already our fav in the island, we can’t wait to come back!

  • Gloria Palace San Agustin Thalasso & Hotel

A bit older, this hotel has been refurbished a few years ago and it’s looking great at the moment. It features the biggest Thalasso center in the island. We really enjoyed its magnificent pool and renowned Aloe treatments!

  • Coralium Thalasso Villa del Conde

Part of a huge hotel that was designed as its owner’s bornplace; getting  one of their finest treatments in their Ocean View Suites is something you won’t forget in a long time!

Center and North Gran Canaria

  • Finca Molino de Agua Hotel

A quick coffee stop on our way to the North part of the island, made us plan a comeback to enjoy the quietness of this off the beaten path hotel. And its pool!

  • Las Longueras Hotel

Close to Agaete, this vintage and colonial mansion built in 1895 hosted us for one night. During our brief stay, we hanged out by the pool and took some night photographs taking advantage of the super low light pollution in the surroundings.

  • Las Calas Hotel

Barely 35km away from the airport, we spent our last night in this cozy hotel. Dating back to the 17th century, it is located in Vega de San Mateo. After a major renovation fifteen years ago, today this manor house offers all the comfort you deserve after a hiking through Gran Canaria wilderness as we did.

  • Hacienda del Buen Suceso Hotel

On our last day in the island, after visiting Arucas botanic garden and before going the airport; we headed to this old banana plantation and tasted its finest cuisine. Delicious!

Although we were invited by Gran Canaria Fincas and Gran Canaria Wellnes; all opinions are, as always, our own.

We’ve had the pleasure of staying at many of these hotels, Inma, and you’re right, each one is spectacular. However, next time you come, you must chuck out the Mondalon, the Womb Room spa and Tejeda’s Fonda la Tea.
